Why Verbois?

The Barrage de Verbois is a run-of-river plant on the Rhone river. While it currently generates 100MW of power, its true potential lies in its location. It sits just 15 km from one of Europe's most critical data center clusters.

Data centers consume massive amounts of energy for cooling. By installing a Type D2 Bypass Trompe , we can generate naturally cold compressed air and pipe it directly to facilities like STACK Infrastructure and Equinix for cooling.

Technical Configuration

  • Type D2 Integration A dedicated bypass pipe ensures zero interference with existing Kaplan turbines.
  • Flow Utilization Using just 50 m3/s (20% of available flow) creates massive output without affecting river ecology.
  • Product Output 127 million m3 of cold compressed air per year at 2.1 Bar pressure.
